...Empower Erie is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, headed by Atty. Ronald A. DiNicola. The goal of Empower Erie is to establish a Community College in Erie County as a way to improve the overall educational attainment and household income of Erie County Residents, meet employer’s current and future needs for skilled workers, make Erie a more attractive place for businesses, and create more family sustaining jobs.
Our volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team, with unique expertise and experience, to support the establishment of a Community College in Erie County.
Judi Roth graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Mathematics. At the University of Delaware, she pursued graduate studies in Economics and Education, receiving a Masters degree.
Roth began her professional career at IBM as a system engineer, installing accounting software and training customers on its use.
As a math teacher and Director of Guidance at Wilmington Friends School (K to 12), Judi supervised the school counseling program and the academic advisors.
Returning to the data processing industry, Judi worked for Johnson Systems and Computer Related Services, creating a customer training and support division at both companies. Responsibilities included writing training materials and establishing customer education classes. She also developed and implemented a marketing plan and supervised the marketing staff.
In 1986, Judi founded her own computer software and consulting firm. In the over thirty years she has been in business, she has provided services to a wide range of clients from several different industries.
Active politically, Judi serves as the President of the Erie County Democratic Women and as Communications Director of the Erie County Democratic Party. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Federation of Women.
Judi has been a Director/Officer on several non-profit boards including the National Association of Women Business Owners, Northeast Ohio Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation (Founding President), Ohio State Women Business Owners Conference Advisory Board, Women Business Owner’s Fund, Women Business Development Center, Erie 9-11 Memorial, Erie Police Athletic League and Empower Erie.
